The Boat House -
Patonga

Project Overview:
ReidBuilt was tasked with renovating the well-known Patonga Cottage at The Boat House Patonga. The client provided some design ideas, and Michael used these to showcase his ability to successfully redesign and construct the accommodation with high-end, detailed finishes.

Key Features:

• Outdoor Area: The crew built an expansive outdoor area, including a cabana, deck, and open pergola.

• Entertaining Deck: A large entertaining deck with podium steps for seating was constructed to accommodate large gatherings and outdoor entertaining.

• Circular Plunge Pool: Due to pool fence regulations, Michael designed a compliant yet aesthetically pleasing fence using timber posts, which became a standout feature of the property.

Recognition:
The finished project was featured in a two-page spread across the Central Coast newspapers, highlighting its exceptional design and construction.

The Strand Hotel - Darlinghurst

Project Overview:
This project involved a comprehensive renovation of the downstairs bar and restaurant, including a full internal fit-out and commercial kitchen renovation. The hotel itself received a cosmetic renovation to all 17 rooms and hallways.

Key Features:

• Bar and Restaurant Fit-Out: Complete renovation of the bar and restaurant, including an underground wine cellar and produce cool room.

• Room Renovations: New floorboards, texture-rendered walls, upgraded lighting, and guest rooms.

• Rooftop Bar: A detailed construction project involving a suspended floor supported by posts penetrating the existing floor and brick walls. The rooftop bar features Northern Box decking boards, which are kiln-dried hardwood, requiring minimal maintenance.

• Outdoor Bar and Garden Beds: Designed to be weather-resistant with a roof for protection against storms. The garden beds are built to sustain large downpours over time.

• City Views: A compliant glass railing was installed to allow for city views while enjoying a drink.

Camelia Grove Hotel-
Alexandria

Project Overview:
ReidBuilt added an outdoor courtyard to the Camelia Grove Hotel, enhancing its appeal and functionality.

Key Features:

• Tiled Deck: The courtyard features a tiled deck for durability and aesthetics.

• Elevated Planter Boxes: These add greenery and a touch of nature to the outdoor space.

• French-Themed Pergola: Constructed out of hardwood, this pergola allows for hanging lights and vines, creating a charming ambience.

• Custom Circular Dinner Tables: Two orange trees and custom circular dinner tables were installed to enhance the dining experience.

The SeaSea Hotel -
Crescent Head

Project Overview:
This ongoing project involves transforming an old, run-down motel into a luxurious resort that offers a unique and exotic experience reminiscent of Bali.

Key Features:

• Timber Joinery: The project required sourcing 8 kilometres of timber joinery to achieve the detailed design proposed.

• Flush Doorways: Michael devised a way to use standard doors and achieve a flush finish, concealing doorways within the joinery walls.

• Bathrooms: Featuring 100x100 tiles and brushed brass fittings, the bathrooms are designed to be both functional and aesthetically pleasing.

• Handmade Lighting Covers: These unique features add a special touch to the rooms, making them highly popular.

Norfolk Hotel -
Sydney

Project Overview:
ReidBuilt renovated the accommodation at the Norfolk Hotel, focusing on creating a modern and comfortable environment.

Key Features:

• New Floorboards and Paint Job: The accommodation received new floorboards and a modern paint job to enhance its appeal.

• Bathroom Renovations: The bathrooms were completely redone with floor-to-ceiling tiles, flush doorway finishes, and a comfortable layout.

• Wedding Preparation Facilities: The accommodation targets weddings and includes two bathrooms and a room dedicated to makeup, suit, and dress storage.
